INDICA : These plants thrive in cooler environments. Indica strains are typically a more physical high, often giving feelings of body relaxation. These strains are believed to help with chronic pain, muscle spasms, anxiety, nausea, appetite stimulation, and sleep deprivation. Many of our patients who suffer from diseases like multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, and insomnia tend to benefit from the effects of cannabis Indica.

SATIVA: Sativa plants flourish in equatorial regions and warmer climates. This type of THC is often more uplifting, and often helps with energy and creativity. Sativa strains seem to produce an uplifting and cerebral high that is typically very energizing and stimulating. Sativas are believed to help with depression, energy levels, migraines, glaucoma, nausea, chemotherapy, and other conditions.

HYBRID: “Hybrids” usually have traits directly related to the genetics in their lineage. Hybrids can be broken down into three basic categories:

  • Sativa-dominant hybrids: Cerebral high with a relaxing body effect. Provides physical and mental relief.
  • Even hybrids (50/50): Ideal strains for people seeking a perfect balance of head and body.
  • Indica-dominant hybrids: These strains may provide full-body pain relief, with a relaxing head high. Recommended for nighttime use to go to sleep, or daytime relief from minor pain.
“What is CBD?”

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid, and other than THC is the most prevalent and sought-after of the 100+ identified cannabinoids other than THC. Unlike THC, CBD does not give that “stoned” or intoxicated feeling associated with cannabis. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways in the brain and body. CBD has been gaining traction for its medicinal properties, and may help with things like chronic pain, depression, anxiety, inflammation, and other ailments.

“What are terpenes?”

Terpenes are found in all plants (not just cannabis) and can be thought of as the essential oils of the plants. Terpenes in cannabis are secreted from the same glands as THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids. Each individual terpene can produce unique effects (just like essential oils for relaxation, energy, focus, etc.) — so make sure you’re shopping with your medical goals in mind.
